Edison’s teaching draws on a working life as a guitarist, composer and bandleader. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, appeared on Sky Arts’ Guitar Star and developed a long-standing mentorship with George Benson.
His career spans jazz clubs, festivals, recording and West End theatre, including Get Up, Stand Up! That experience informs a practical approach to harmony, listening, musical interaction and performance.

Payment is made in advance. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Is this right for my level?
The coaching is for adult intermediate and experienced guitarists. You should already be comfortable playing your instrument, but you do not need to be an advanced jazz player. Sessions begin with where you are now.
What happens in the first session?
We discuss your musical interests and goals, listen to your playing and identify a useful starting point. You leave with practical work and a clear direction for your practice.
What styles can we explore?
Jazz is at the heart of the coaching, with room to explore blues, soul and funk. The focus is on developing harmony, improvisation, rhythm and expression through repertoire that interests you.
What equipment do I need?
Your guitar, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone that can run Zoom. Position the camera so Edison can see both hands.
